    I don't think that will really make any sort of noticeable impact on people smoking cigarettes, it's kind of like drinking. If anything the age should be lowered.

      @pennylane This would probably have the opposite effect. There is an increasing reverse trend for tobacco i.e. it's not cool anymore for the younger generations to smoke and I think this is probably the best strategy to eliminate smoking in the near future

    The legal age to purchase tobacco should be the age of majority (18). The legal age to use tobacco outside of the confines of one's own home or the home of another consenting adult should be "never." Tobacco use in public is a per se initiation of aggression against others.
