Unfortunately, yes.Though it's worth pointing out that the American Left by and large doesn't make it's scientifically illeterate their party's nominee for President. We usually just mock them.Name one Democratic Party nominee for President who pandered to anti-vaxxers. I'll wait.
I wonder who will disagree with this..
Of course, liberals and conservatives have similar groups of people on both sides, just with different political opinions
@jeffery95014 wondering where you're headed with this...
@japes16 Thought it was relevant given the recent March for Science.
I think the vast majority who claim to understand science refuse to explain it (or are unable to) but use ad verecundiam fallacies to push policies based on their ignorance.
@logicalreason Can you explain why you disagree? Your comment isn't very clear on your stance.
@jeffery95014 it's a disagreement about proportion, I'd argue that those who believe they are grounded in science don't have the ability to explain the science. It's the overwhelming majority of both parties to argue from ignorance but advocate policies contradictory to scientific evidence (drug policy for example).
Its ridicolous how stupid the right is on environmental issues and how dishonest the left is on abortion.
