Employers and businesses have enough hoops to jump through and enough taxes to pay, they shouldn't be required to pay a certain amount in minimum wage. People should be paid what they deserve based on their skills and experience, end of story.

@torimarie if you watched the debate you would know that it really is not the simple. You can still pay people what they deserve, just as long as it is over the minimum wage. It would be too easy for emplyers to take advantage of people without the minimum wage

@jeeep33 No foundation for that argument.

Not sure about what side of this argument I fall in but I do agree that a standard exists for what it takes to live. There is a minimum that someone needs to actually survive. Society is structured in a way that requires money

@gabbykman that's pretty much the argument I make.

@gabbykman one-size-fits-all policies aren't good at addressing that. If the minimum wage were to meet the "minimum that someone requires to survive" then it wouldn't exist since people survive with no income. Even ignoring that fact, the "minimum" would be different for every single person depending on their needs. And since there's no guarantee for a job (even less with a minimum wage) the "minimum" is moot.

Hey, guys! I am new here so I have tried to explain what I felt about the debate. Since it was just for 4 minutes, I know I spoke super fast. Please feel free to agree or disagree. I could have missed few points from the debate as there were some sound barriers. I am uploading another video comment too which will be the rest of my points.

@enzilag I understand the points you are making, but I do want to make something clear. This is a extemporaneous speech, and also we have to debate with the realms of what the audience may know. This is not a policy debate as to where I either the neg or the affirm has to give agents of action or other advanced techniques. That being said, grab a topic and let's do this.

@alot_like_locke Hey! As I said I am new here, I didn't know much about the criteria I should have taken care of. Now that I know I will keep that in mind.

@enzilag I'm not saying not to have those debates, but this is just not one
I am more than willing to take legit policy debates.
