@sarahmiller Appreciate the detailed feedback and evaluation of the debate!
@sarahmiller appreciate the analysis and quality feedback
@nellyj Daily Wire as a source? Questionable, would you not say?
@drsteve if you'd check it you'd see that it sources several others. Why is that problematic?
@drsteve yes like when people use Wikipedia also
@jsaoriginal how is it at all the same? Rule #1: you should check the link before commenting on it.
For anybody interested in following uphttps://www.google.com/amp/s/wattsupwiththat.com/2014/04/02/the-big-list-of-failed-climate-predictions/amp/
@nellyj Thnaks for this!
One source that I think was questioned in the debate:https://www.nasa.gov/content/goddard/nasa-study-shows-global-sea-ice-diminishing-despite-antarctic-gains
@singalport if it's " Global Climate Change" should not it be happening Globally? Yet we don't see this. We see distinc changes of growing in some areas (& it was your most outspoken CC Reverend, Al Gore III, who said 'The ice caps [ALL of them] would be gone by 2016'l') and shrinking in some areas and even growth and shrinking according to seasonality, as expected, in some areas. Global means the betire globe but we don't see ANY of thatAs to sea levels how did the Matives get over from Russia? Land bridge. That means sea levels must have risen by not just inches but tens of meters if not 100s. All before Man was of any effect. This occurred because it was much warmer in previous eras. I again point to your false prophets who claimed 'by 2016 Miami would be underwater.' I was over in the Florida Gulf coast18 months ago and it was fine. No change from my visit 9 years ago. Not a single one of your BS climate models have come to reality. None of the catastrophic predictions have come- it's been the quietest storm period of the century with 0 Category III storms hitting shore since Katrina despite the claim that they would not only be stronger but more frequent. None of them predicted the 20 year stagnation of warming even as Man's activities have increased.
@nellyj I would respectfully like to mention that the purpose of the debate itself is to try and flesh out all of the arguments you had prepared before hand along with rebuttals. On a national high school level trying to argue after the debate is over with arguments you may or may not have successfully conveyed during the debate itself would not be considered in the decision of the debate and can sometimes have worse consequences. For these reasons I will not respond to new arguments made after the debate but am willing to answer any questions some of our viewers had.
@nellyj first it was global warming, now it's climate change, it's really just changes in the weather pattern brought on by things like El Niño & el Nina.
@jsaoriginal and global cooling before that
And some important evidence for today's debate: http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/science/human-contribution-to-gw-faq.html#.WTcV6evyuUlhttp://globalwarming-facts.info/causes-global-warming-human/
Lol!!! That Mars warming joke tho... #sassy Nice come back @singalport
I'd like to see the Paris deal debated. Was Trump's move justified? Lots of great facts here, thank you both for this.@singalport are you a professionally trained debater?
@drsteve it was a non-binding 'agreement' with no penalties. What is the difference if we're in or out? Well, except that according to the agreement we had TO PAY INDIA AND CHINA to reduce their emissions. Are you interested in not only having your job shipped overseas but your wallet too?
@drsteve Glad to see you enjoyed the debate. I am sure the Paris deal would be an interesting discussion. In regards to your question I am the founder and president of my high school debate team so I primarily have learned through experience and thought Qallout was a great platform to test my skills.
I don't understand how this is still debatable... @singalport really good definitions at the begining! @nellyj calling something "ridiculous" and "non-sense" is not really an argument!
@gemmafree Appreciate it!
@gemmafree when was it ever debated? You've fully fallen for the scam without ever even hearing a debate https://youtu.be/EHFfOOF-6Fs
I guess the follow up debate here should be "How do you evaluate sources"!
@nellyj Natural climate change exists indeed hence we had ice ages etc over the course of the last hundred of thousands of years when humans didn't even exist on the planet. BUT this doesn't mean that humans have not and are not contributing to today's climate change. In fact, the moment humans set foot on an inhabited island/ territory, there is immediately impact on the environment. Also the fact that we don't have data for all this time doesn't mean that we should disregard the data that we do have. Let alone the tools and capabilities that scientists have today; I think it's ridiculous to dismiss the community of scientists and their methods without a real counter argument i.e. garbage in, garbage out. How do you know???
@votesaad NASA and NOAA admitted they cooked the datahere is a guy speaking on the datahttps://youtu.be/EHFfOOF-6Fs
@nellyj fair enough.. thx
@nellyj you got my vote but I have a question, if this whole thing is a hoax, why are the majority of countries and scientists buying into it? What's the alterior motive? Is it just paranoia?
@jameson14 $$MONEY$$ There is an enormous amount of money in it pumped in by governments who Promote it for globalist purposes. If you see the analysis of the 97% lie you'll see a little on the money trail. But the fact is that most real scientists don't believe it's Man caused. The IPCC is a bunch of bureaucrats and few actual scientists. http://www.petitionproject.org/https://youtu.be/EHFfOOF-6Fs
Great debate @nellyj but you just didn't quite convince me
How many volcanoes have there been that spew massive amounts of Co2 into the air that add to the problem?
Trees fall down all the time in storms, floods, & other natural disasters.
8 hundred thousand years? Pulling numbers out of your hat? Everything you say needs to be statically backed up as absolute fact.
@jsaoriginal I do not resort to fabricating evidence and believe I cited the information during the debate. Here's the link in case you want to take a look: http://cdiac.ornl.gov/trends/co2/ice_core_co2.html
@singalport thanks for the link but it's total Interputation and you develop a hypothesis which really is only a theory of been plenty of ice core hypothesis which really is only a theory. There's been of been plenty of ice cores & tree rings that have mis correctly read.
Interesting how projections, & computer models win over comparisons as Nelson introduced. First you have to make sure your sources are legit. It seemed like a lot of info from scientist Al Gores, an inconvenient truth that never came true. Oh did I say Scientist Al Gore? That seems to be what's happening with all their predictions Nelson did about 1/4 of the time & was the clear winner.
Global warming is a hoax-
Great job nellyj!
Its my observation that the pros are very fearful and led astray easily.
@lindalaplante52 Would you be able to elaborate on this?
the fact is that most real scientists don't believe it's Man caused. The IPCC is a bunch of bureaucrats and few actual scientists and it was sued by real scientists for fraud when they changled the words in the IPCC document after they signed it. http://www.petitionproject.org/
@nellyj From http://www.iflscience.com/environment/consensus-confirmed-over-90-climate-scientists-believe-we-re-causing-global-warming/Seven studies quantified the level of agreement among publishing climate scientists, or among peer-reviewed climate papers. Across these studies, there was between 90% to 100% agreement that humans were causing global warming.
Unless you are able to prove why almost all recent scientific data has failed without just saying bureaucrats/money and cite any actual data that has been manipulated then it is very hard to convince anyone otherwise unless of course they came with the preconceived notion that "global warming is a hoax".
very good arguments,well prepared ,very well overall
He admitted that "All planets are warming" then he said its "because the atmosphere causes warming. Does that mean that the man on earth causes warming on Jupiter?
