To understand my meaning, see this interview with Neil Degrasse Tyson. Ten minutes. https://youtu.be/BRHefbIgKxk
saw the video. I would not say that God serves as a progress reducer if we take it in the good yay. I personnaly think that there's "real" things in the world that are something like God to me. And I'm not a religious people. I carefully inversitage what God is in my own life, regardless of what religion is saying about that. Those things are: Life, Love, Liberty, Truth, Peace. Those things are invisible, but still serve as some world equilibrium elements. Invisible equilibrium.
@blitzgrutel they are physically invisible when defined. They have physical manifestations when put into practice. Arguing about my god versus your god has no physical properties other than conflict and eventually (historically) war.
And I didn't say that God serves as a progress reducer. I said the "God Debate" serves as a progress reducer. There is a difference.
@vermontrevolutionary I think there's a little semantic here, the god debate is at its base arguing about my and your God hehe! And essencially, I always welcome a new point of view of that. I personnaly think that we are all observing the same thing with different points of view.
@blitzgrutel it's not semantics. And even if it were, semantics is necessary for the understanding of meaning. However, you said, "I would not say that God serves as a progress reducer for humanity"' whereas I said, "the God debate serves as a progress reducer for humanity".These are two entirely separate branches of discussion and if we are going to have a back and forth, it is important you recognize this.
@vermontrevolutionary I used God instead of God debate and you just stucked on that. Just re-read and replace "God" with "god debate"...
I re-tought about that and I think you should just state what you want to argue about and I'll follow from that point :-)
Knowing if there is a creator is the most important question one can ask. If we know who made it, we can learn how to use it properly.
@meta_self you can't know. So that's pointless.
@vermontrevolutionary Says who?
