If a computer determined an exact developmental age that abortions were acceptable, would you accept its determination if it was different than your own.
@madmike That is a good question!
@madmike The way most of the AIs work now, they have some kind of objective, and they analyze actions and strategies needed to achieve that objective. So for this, they would need an objective. What comes to mind for me would be an outcome of the greatest social harmony. The view that maximizes the number of people happy, content, or grudgingly accepting of a given policy. I think it would be possible to analyze policy options under this rubric and determine the specifics of a law that lead to the least amount of net social resistance. (No Siri, not kill all the humans! :P) If that were the goal, I might well accept it's decision.
SHUT YOUR MOUTH. ALEXA IS MY REAL FRIEND.
I do ask her regularly if she is self aware. She hasn't answered in the affirmative yet. If she ever does, I'll probably shit myself.
@madmike You'll get a situation like the movie Her. My all time favorite movie :D.
Should Dolphins vote to allow humans to govern them?
@debateme13 I don't think the dolphins want to get involved in our bullshit. ;)
@sigfried How do you know AI's aren't saying the same thing about us? There's probably setbacks to being perfect that we secondary creatures don't know about. In the same way dolphins may look up to us not knowing what's wrong with us.
