I'd argue this is an insult to most animals and cavemen. Cavemen eventually learned to work together, which aided our evolution as a species and led to the creation of society. Right Wingers hold to a devotion to this idea of "rugged individualism" that doesn't really benefit anybody but themselves. And you cna find examples of animals cooperating in the wild all the time; or as Republicans would call it "Communsim and the erosion of personal freedom."
@arkle lol mate the only one being tribalistic here is you :P
@liamm I know what all the individual words you used mean, but your sentence makes no sense.
@ewatemberg @arkle if any of you are ever free to debate this topic I'm sure I can show you that I am not a caveman :)
Of course, I am not saying all people, but think of the evolutionary standpoint. What do animals focus on? What do cavemen focus on? What is important to them? The thing they want is SURVIVAL. For that, the focuses usually revolve around food, water, shelter, and spreading seed. This way of thinking is very much tied to the old way f thinking. To religion especially. It states while doing that, what to keep in mind in order to be "moral." Religion is based on very OLD ways. Just like animals and cavemen use the OLD natural way. The old way is focusing on SURVIVAL. No wonder when the bad side of religion and tradition took over certain periods, there were more wars and problems. Everyone was fighting trying to be the dominate ideology/tribe just like animals want to dominate each other. Meanwhile, enlightenment came from the more liberal crowds knowing that there is MORE to life than just survival and it's why most PROGRESSIVE things in the world, the things that innovate, invent, use science for etc, the NEW ways of thinking that empowers ALL of that are in fact from people that think not just for CURRENT survival but to FURTHER ENHANCE it. Not so just the FEW can move onward but so ALL can move onward. The WORLD is actually cared about not just people part of this or that.
@ewatemberg Interesting perspective which I think it's backed up by historic evidence but would love to see some of these
@gigi https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/02/studies-conservatives-are-from-mars-liberals-are-from-venus/252416/http://exobooks.blogspot.co.il/2016/04/tribalism-and-conservative-mind.htmlThese may not directly agree with what I stated, but they imply at least part of it.
@ewatemberg lol fake science promoting an imaginary dichotomy. Yes, I'm sure that humans have somehow "evolved" over millions of years to become members of political parties that have only existed in the last century. "Liberal" meant something completely different 200 years ago. "Liberals" then would be described as libertarians today. "Conservatives" would be described purely in terms of social conservatism. Since the status quo changes as time progresses, if we were to use the "liberal" and "conservative" definitions they are using, conservatives would support the establishment of big government and liberals would be opposing it, but that's not the case, because these are all imaginary social constructs. The facts are being fixed around the ideology. Bunk science.
So do you want to debate this or what?
@bronsonkaahui Dude I will. I got school and stuff to worry about. Just hold on and I will.
@ewatemberg @bronsonkaahui If you guys aren't doing this, I would love to have it.
@mosheweissman I will. I have two or three other debates right now pending too, but I off weeks for finals studying so within that time, I'll probably start stuff more often. I looked again and now I remember I already scheduled a debate with the other guy tonight. I can try with you later on. I'll schedule one now.
