I'd argue this is an insult to most animals and cavemen. Cavemen eventually learned to work together, which aided our evolution as a species and led to the creation of society. Right Wingers hold to a devotion to this idea of "rugged individualism" that doesn't really benefit anybody but themselves. And you cna find examples of animals cooperating in the wild all the time; or as Republicans would call it "Communsim and the erosion of personal freedom."

Of course, I am not saying all people, but think of the evolutionary standpoint. What do animals focus on? What do cavemen focus on? What is important to them? The thing they want is SURVIVAL. For that, the focuses usually revolve around food, water, shelter, and spreading seed. This way of thinking is very much tied to the old way f thinking. To religion especially. It states while doing that, what to keep in mind in order to be "moral." Religion is based on very OLD ways. Just like animals and cavemen use the OLD natural way. The old way is focusing on SURVIVAL. No wonder when the bad side of religion and tradition took over certain periods, there were more wars and problems. Everyone was fighting trying to be the dominate ideology/tribe just like animals want to dominate each other. Meanwhile, enlightenment came from the more liberal crowds knowing that there is MORE to life than just survival and it's why most PROGRESSIVE things in the world, the things that innovate, invent, use science for etc, the NEW ways of thinking that empowers ALL of that are in fact from people that think not just for CURRENT survival but to FURTHER ENHANCE it. Not so just the FEW can move onward but so ALL can move onward. The WORLD is actually cared about not just people part of this or that.
