    They are given a share. Housing, tuition, apparel, meals--its all compensation for their services.

      Fair compensation for services includes a "piece of the pie". Housing, tuition, apparel, and meals are all a given.  If an athlete brings in a large influx of money to an institution, they should be fairly compensated, and given a cut, or at least a salary for doing their job.
